The over-arching theme of my recent research is the design, modeling and analysis of wireless networks, particularly mobile ad hoc and sensor networks. Such emerging networks are infrastructure-less and consist of a large number of small energy-constrained devices. These networks enable a wide array of potential vital applications including disaster relief networks, vehicular networks, and wireless classrooms, among others. In my research on wireless networks, emphasis is given to systematic protocol design for realistic conditions, taking into account issues of mobility, energy-constraints, information inaccuracy, and failures. In such a framework, I made major contributions in the areas of: (1) mobility modeling and analysis, (2) resource discovery and query resolution, and (3) robust geographic routing. This document highlights selected studies and contributions from my research projects. A more complete list of studies and publications can be found in my CV.
